Danang Hotels for those Who Value their Money

Some of the Danang hotels can be pretty bad.

A good quality Danang hotel can be tricky to find, especially if you are on a budget or have a liking for rooms without rats, rugs that smell like pee and toilets that don't allow you to smell the business of everyone on your floor.

I may seem like a real bag of joy telling you this but I have seen examples of some very poorly kept Guesthouses that advertise as 3 star hotels in Danang.

I'm not saying you must stay in a Danang Resort like the Furama resort in Danang or any other of the resorts Danang has to offer. But the more time you invest in reading a few hotel reviews before you book your Danang hotel the better off you'll be.

We'll give you the good and the bad about the hotels in Danang that we know best. You are always welcome to give you own thoughts on the best and worst Danang Hotels at the bottom of this page.

Medium Priced Danang Hotels

You are pretty safe with the Royal Hotel, Danang compared to most other 3 star Da Nang Hotels. It's not as expensive as the 3 star Danang Resort hotels and the rooms are clean and pretty well kept.

Having said that, most of the rooms were, are, or have accommodated smokers. Just because they tell you the room is a non-smoking room doesn't mean it was that way yesterday.

The location is good. This is important when staying in Danang because you should avoid the dodgy areas of town and there are plenty of them. The walk home to the Royal Hotel at night is through pretty safe areas if you plan on a night out.

Or you could just head to the main floor disco for a night of dancing.

Just don't EVER accept a room on the first or second floor. Especially if you want to get some sleep. The noise from the disco is loud and even when they close at 12am, people hang about outside and play a game of "See who can talk the loudest".

But you won't find any rats, spiders or ants in the rooms at the Royal Hotel. It is near the riverfront, the beds and sheets were clean and there is Wireless internet access throughout the hotel.

The Furama Resort Danang, Vietnam is a fairly expensive place. I listed it here because it is quite worth the money and especially so if you have any kids. The price for a stay in a place similar to this in either Europe or North America would be 5 times the price.

In comparison to the Ritz Hotel in Bali, this is superior. And much cheaper.

Common complaints are poor English skills of the staff, the lifeguards on the private beach who seem like drones and the $10USD a day charge for wireless internet access in the room (Just remember that the internet is free if you sit pool-side or have a coffee in the pub or even on a couch in the lobby).

You can have a nice day at the Furama Resort Danang. Start with breakfast, then a short Yoga class, A swim on the private beach, lunch poolside, a massage and pedicure in the private Spa and top the day off with a night out at the famous in-house Club Tourane disco ($2USD a bottle of beer!).

Lots of good people have also recommended this hotel. it is still in the mid-range of price at $40USD a room but if there are 2 of you then $20USD each works out pretty good.

The rooms are clean. Even though the furniture has been there since the early 90s (and looks it at times), the rooms are big and comfortable.

The Elegant hotel is one of the best Danang hotels for the buck. The location is also very good. The hotel is right across the street from the river and the center of town with the marketplace is but a 5 minute walk. But I look at everything so it took me about 12 minutes.

Interesting stuff and none of it designed for the western taste. That's where Danang is great. You get to really see a industrial city at work that has been largely unaffected by tourist (In most areas).

The Elegant hotel is also just a $2USD motorbike taxi ride away from China Beach.

We recommend this hotel as one of the best Hotels in Danang for the buck. We'll show you a few hotels for under $20USD a night but the difference is immense.

Danang is a tough place to find a good Danang hotel.

Budget Priced Danang Accommodation

If you are arriving by train to Danang then this Danang hotel is our pick for super-budget travelers. It is only about a 15min walk from the Danang train station to the Vien Dong Hotel. It's also a leisurely 900M walk to the riverside from the hotel.

The rooms are very clean compared to most other Hotels in Danang or even a Danang Resort or two. You can tell the owners of the Vien Dong Hotel take a lot of pride in their hotel.

The rooms also have bathtubs, which are quite rare in Vietnam, so if you love a good bathe then just another reason to have a good look here.

Rooms are priced between $15USD and $20USD, but if you are with a friend then you can share the cost by half. The staff are quite friendly staff but it can be tough to communicate with them at times as few of the staff speak English very well.

The Tourane Beach Hotel is another hotel that belongs in the 'Best Budget Danang Hotels' category. The reason it is so good is primarily the location. It's located right on the beach but quite far from the center of town (Good and Bad?). I love the beach and hated the center of town in Danang, anyways.

Do try some of the local beach front cafes as they are nicely located across the street. The food is quite good and cheap compared to the center of town, some 3km away.

Many Taxis wait just outside the hotel but most of them will rip you off at a moment so ask the staff what you should be paying before you agree on a price with the taxi driver.

The rooms are some of the biggest I've seen in Vietnam and the beds are all King-Sized as well. I am still surprised that the rooms all had Air-Con and Satellite T.Vs. and don't forget the awesome pool as well.

Rooms go for between $17.50USD and $30USD a night. If you prefer to be right on the beach rather than in the center of town (Noisy) then the Tourane Beach Hotel is one of the best Danang Hotels for overall value.

The Y Van Riverside hotel is a Danang hotel with few tourists. It seems the business types passing through town are its largest clientele.

This is good if you are looking for peace and quiet away from the scam artists hanging about the tourist spots.

This Danang hotel is located across the river from the main center of Danang so easy access to whatever facilities you need.

The staff does have difficulty communicating in English but I found the barrier comical. We always found a way to get our point across, even if we had to grab the neighbor's friend to translate. But they were nice the whole time.

Friendly staff is not the norm for most Hotels in Danang. I'd rather have a language barrier with a happy person than clear understanding of a nasty one. Not a nasty one in sight at the Y Van Riverside Hotel.

The rooms are big, the bathrooms are nice and overall the surroundings are modern and quiet. The only fault we could dig up was that the breakfast was very basic and portions quite small.

Rooms go for between $15.00USD and $26USD. Great deal for what you get.
