More of a hotel in that people don't have a common room to mix in like many other Sanya hotels and even a Sanya resort or two. People tended to say in their rooms but make sure to have breakfast if you want to meet up with other travelers. The rooms are extra nice with a fridge, air-conditioner and TV. All the roms are dusted and cleaned daily by the maids and breakfast is also included into the room rate. The Sunny Sanya Family Inn is located very near to Dadonghai beach. It might be a whole 2 minutes walk. The location of the Sunny Sanya Family Inn is as good as it gets on Hainan Island. You're a short walk to the best areas in town for food, dancing, bathing and shopping. A Deluxe Private Double Ensuite will cost you $21.96USD a night. We will throw a little salt for you to take with that because they really try to wedge every penny they can out of every guest. Stay away from the services the Sanya Blue Sky International Youth Hostel offers. Services like motorbike rentals and tour tickets as well as bus tickets and all manner of things outside of your need for a bed and a good room. The owners just add to much profit for themselves to everything. You'll find whatever you need outside of the Sanya Blue Sky International Youth Hostel for a lot cheaper. The only other problem is keeping the sand out of your room. It is that close to the beach, they care for the place and they watch out for you and know who pays the bills. A Private Twin Ensuite will cost you $21.99USD a night if you book online but availability is tough. The Sanya Eagle Backpackers Hostel begins on the 12th floor and ends on the 18th floor of a very tall building. I don't know what is underneath but the views from the rooms at the Sanya Eagle Backpackers Hostel are fantastic because of it. One of the better Hainan Hotels for those who like all the little things like free soap and shampoo and clean towels provided. Other Sanya Hotels charge you extra or exclude these small things altogether. The Sanya Eagle Backpackers Hostel is also in a great location. Very near to the beach but we recommend you ask how to get to Halong Bay beach because it is a lot nicer and very near. If you especially like the bar scene then this is the place for you. It is right in the Bar and Pub area of Sanya and some people like that fact alone enough to book a room. A Private Twin Ensuite at the Sanya Eagle Backpackers Hostel will cost you $11.99USD a night. The Best "Spoil Yourself" Hainan Hotels in Sanya CityThe Crowne Plaza Hotel, Sanya City is not a budget hotel but one of those fantastic Hainan hotels that you may from time to time splurge on. We had to include this one because it is a 5 star hotel with 4 star pricing. In Europe the rooms here would be $300 Euros a night but you can have a room at The Crowne Plaza Hotel Sanya City for under 80 Euros. The Crowne Plaza Hotel has the nicest pool amongst all other Hainan hotels. Make sure you go for a swim at night. It gets a bit chilly out but the pool is heated and a wonder to have to yourself. I love the rooms most because of the awesome balcony (Book to make sure you get an ocean view!), huge bathtubs and the screen between the bathroom and bedroom that pulls back so you can watch TV while soaking in the massive bathtub. There's also speakers in the bathroom just in case you can't hear the TV. But the place seems empty all the time. If you love to meet people and socialize then I wouldn't stay here. But some people like the privacy. The Crowne Plaza Hotel is Not directly on the beach. You have to walk a good 4 minutes to get to it and even then it is a pretty small section of a small beach. I had to include a Photograph. Probably the most amazing views out of any of the Hainan hotels on the whole Island. If you can afford $150USD for a night then Gloria Resort Sanya can give you a taste of what the Rich and Famous enjoy. It would be $800USD a night to stay in a hotel like this in the U.S. The Gloria Resort Sanya also has the best location on Yalong Bay. It is like the owners were the first people ever on the island and got a year to find and pick the best location. I love that the spa is right on the beach, sand and all. You can get a massage a few hundred feet from where the water washes ashore. Ridiculous but wonderful. That alone was worth the $150USD for the night I stayed at The Gloria Resort Sanya. But I hate the surcharges. Know that Gloria Resort Sanya slaps a 15% on everything from food to shampoo. I hated that but at the same time if you just head out of the hotel for your dinner and supplies it's real cheap.
