Hi, Debra. The best way to go from Saigon to Siem Reap is in 2 stages. First, you get the bus from Saigon (Mekong Express Bus) to Phnom Penh. Overnight in Phnom Penh and then on to Siem Reap on the 5 hour bus journey.

For Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City you have the bus or a taxi as an option. The bus will be like a ride through heck (Not Hell) because the roads are not made for the big bus and the roads get flooded with motorbikes doing 30kmh/h.

So the bus honks its horn the entire way up. This gets rather annoying after 5 hours or so.

There is no railway station at Hoi An, but there are regular buses, minibuses & taxis from Danang to Hoi An, taking between 45 minutes and an hour. The bus fare is about US$3

Get a bus up to Danang and then get on the train. It will cost you about $36USD and the 791Km should take about 5 hours.

Good Luck
