At The Hong Kong Museum of Art you'll find Chinese paintings, calligraphy works, antique Chinese treasures, paintings of historical significance as well as creations by local artists. Some of the stuff on display actually looked oddly cheap and out of place while other works of art were clearly masterpieces done by incredibly talented artists. There is also the modern art pieces but I thought they were a bit silly. Most modern art seems like an uncoordinated mess of color that presents no deeper meaning or gives me any insight into the mood that the artist was in during creation. Of course everyone has a different opinion when it comes to art though. There is a standard admission charge of $10HK to get in but it is only $5HK for the disabled, full time students and senior citizens aged 60 or more. The Museum of Art is open daily from 10:00am to 6:00pm. It is closed on Thursdays. You'll find The Museum Of Art just adjacent the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and the Hong Kong Space Museum. Get to the nearest MTR station and hit the Tsuen Wan Line to the Tsim Sha Tsui Station and get off the train. Then look for 'Exit E' out of the station. It's just a 10-minute walk from there down towards the water. Return to the Top of the Hong Kong Museum of Art Page
