The Hong Kong Space Museum's advantage is that China has been to space as early as 1998 and there are many space paraphernalia to see from that trip. The presentations are mostly interactive as well.
The HK Space Museum has a hemispherical projection dome inside where they show wonderful space films from the first OMNIMAX film projector in the Eastern hemisphere.
Inside, there is the Hall of Space Science on the ground floor and the Hall of Astronomy on the first floor. The exhibits are mostly interactive and that allows the educational experiences to be presented in a very entertaining way.
It will cost you $24HKD to get in but only $12HKD for full-time students, people with disability and senior citizens over 60.
The museum is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays from 10:00am - 9:00pm.
They are closed on Tuesdays.
The Museum is located at 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The best way to get there is by the MTR. It works out to be more expensive than the bus but the MTR gets you there fast and you will never get lost.
Get on the MTR at any station and board the train heading in the direction of Tsim Sha Tsui East. Get off the train at the Tsim Sha Tsui Station and look for the signs that show the Exit points out of the MTR station.
You want to follow the directions that have you leaving the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station through the 'B2 Exit'.
From there it is about a 15 minute walk to the Hong Kong Space Museum along Cameron Road. If you do that, you can't miss it.
